  1. I would like to do a silver metallic wall with either a flat white paint/ glaze, or possibly an oyster metallic/ glaze, or roll on white (or an off white), metallic plaster, with horizontal stiae effect. With the silver shining through where I would use a wallpaper/ or a semi stiff bristled brush, to brush of some of the white. How would you recommend I best go about this? Your help would be appreciated.

    • Hi, Michele!
We would suggest you do each of these finishes on a large sample board to see which tool works best for each of the ideas you have in mind. It could be that the wallpaper brush works better with a metallic glaze and a damp rag (well-wrung out) works better with the flat or satin paint glaze. A trowel would work great with the Metallic Plaster over the metallic by applying plaster in a fashion where the metallic paint peeks through. The large sample boards a great way to work out a finish plan before you tackle the wall surface. Your local paint and/or faux studio may also have other tools to suggest. You can also take a look at our Tone-on-Tone finish video to see if you like this idea (or a variation) would work as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFG3pngy9js Please keep us posted!
